CANNER ARTS Red LED. Green LED. Output Window This feature is not available on the MS9520. In some custom units the standard green LED has been replaced with a blue LED and the red LED has been replaced with a white LED.
Yellow LED CodeGate Button MS9500 Top View. When the Voyager is in operation, it provides audible feedback. These sounds indicate the status of the scanner. Eight settings are available for the tone of the beep (normal, 6 alternate tones and no tone). To change the beeper tone, refer to the MetroSelect Single-Line Configuration Guide or MetroSet2’s help files. The MS9520 has two LED indicators (green. and red.) located on the head of the scanner.
When the scanner is on, the flashing or stationary activity of the LEDs indicates the status of the current scan and the scanner. Return the unit for repair to an authorized service center.
Three Beeps – on power up If the scanner beeps 3 times on power up then the non- volatile memory (NovRAM) that holds the scanner configuration has failed. If the scanner does not respond after reprogramming, return the scanner for repair to an authorized service center. If the command sent to the scanner is valid, the scanner will respond with an ack. If the command sent to the scanner in invalid, the scanner will respond with a nak. This mode uses the current Baud Rate, Parity, Stop Bits and Data Bits settings that are configured in the scanner. The default settings of the scanner are 9600, Space, 2, 7 respectively.
If a command is sent to the scanner to change any of these settings, the change will NOT take effect until after serial program mode is exited. The scanner will beep three times! This example illustrates two important points. First, if an invalid command is sent from the host, the scanner responds with a nak and the end-user must start over from the beginning.
Second, if a command is sent to change the Baud Rate, the new baud rate does not take effect until after the end-user exits program mode. Press the button to upgrade the scanner, the unit will go into a “flash mode” – both the green. and red. LEDs will be on.
The user can follow the progress of the upgrade by watching the screen for details. ABELS Each scanner has a label on the back of the unit.
This label has the model number, date of manufacture, serial number, CE and caution information. Many RS232 programmable functions available in other Metrologic scanners are also available as keyboard wedge functions. ROUBLESHOOTING The following guide is for reference purposes only. Contact a Metrologic representative at 1-800-ID-Metro or 1-800-436-3876 to preserve the limited warranty terms.
Symptoms All Interfaces The unit has no LEDs, beep or laser. At power up the unit beeps 2 times and alternately flashes the LEDs. Solution Verify that the bar code being scanned falls into the programmed criteria. The scanner defaults to a minimum of 3 character bar code.
If the unit is setup to support ACK/NAK, RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF or D/E, verify that the host cable and host are supporting the handshaking properly. Try operating the scanner in Alt mode. Check to make sure that the baud rate and parity of the scanner and the communication port match and that the program is looking for “RS232” data. Check to make sure that the unit is connected to the correct com port on the host device. This program is for demonstration purposes only.
It is only intended to prove that cabling is correct, the COM port is working, and the scanner is working. If the bar code data displays on the screen while using this program, it only demonstrates that the hardware interface and scanner are working.

I have a K8N Master2-FAR (MS-9620) motherboard which was supplied completely bare by MSI as a warranty replacement for a faulty MS-9130. It's apparently working with 6GB RAM installed at the moment (six pieces of 1GB each, Kingston KVR333D8R25/1G).
I'm happy so far. In the overview for the K8N Master2-FAR (MS-9620) motherboard on the MSI Website: and also on page 2-6 of the user's manual which I downloaded from the MSI Website it says that the board can support up to 12GB of RAM, that is six pieces of 2GB each. On the listing provided by the 'QVL' tab on this page, alongside all the 2GB memory modules that I can see there is a statement that only four modules can be used, giving only 8GB of installed RAM. Yet here I see that only up to 6GB can be used if it's DDR400 but up to 24GB can be used if it's DDR333 or slower. I've asked MSI technical for a definitive answer but I'm impatient. Can anyone tell me their experience with memory in this board?
That's because people have no clue how AMD's work, they tend to believe/say anything without solid foundation. The CPU will support any number of memory upto several TB's!! Just depends on the number of slots you have and the density of the memory modules. As you have 6 slots and if there where 100GB memory modules, it should be able to do 600GB (in theory) However, those modules don't exsits so it unclear if they work or not. But, I can show you mobo's (e.g. K8D Master 133) that has way more slots then you have per CPU. Only, one should be care full with ordering brand new very large modules, test them before you buy.
BTW they ARE saying the same as me!! Quote All Opterons, Athlon64, Athlon64-X2, Sempron64 and Turions have 40Bit physical memory addressing.
All memory is shared between all Cores/CPUs on a single board, thus, a theoretical maximum of 2^40 Bytes of physical RAM can be addressed by the CPUs, independent of the number of cores, which corresponds to one Terabyte of RAM. Virtual addressing is done in 48Bits, thus you can have up to 256Terabyte of swapspace. The limiting factor is not the CPU but your mainboard, since 1TB cannot yet be inserted into any single board system on the market. The maximum memory size solely depends on the number of RAM-slots on your board and the maximum supported size per RAM-module.
At the office we am running an older Dual Opteron-242 system, that can handle up to 32GB of RAM in 16 slots of up to 2GB each. I run a K8N Master2 with SuperTalent D32RB1GW 1GB sticks at PC3200/2T with a pair of 265's. It's a VMWare box that runs 24x7 without problems. The later Opterons officially support up to 4 banks of RAM at DDR400 and DDR333 otherwise.
However, a DIMM may be one or two banks (very occasionally 4) so that could be 2 or 4 DIMMS depending on the layout of your DIMMS - which is not always clear. However, the older K8N BIOS's defaults to a 1T command rate which does not work with larger numbers of DIMMS - and you can't change it. You need the latest BIOS and then manually change it to 2T.
